Me – Norman James Penny

I am currently “an Invernessian in Kent” having lived in Bushey, Hertfordshire; Cincinnati, Ohio; Herne Bay and now Birchington, Kent. A little bit more about me – now with many photos.

This was me, and my class, in Primary School.

Here is an insight into my interests – start points and many years later.

Key pursuits are research into the purpose of the Pictish Symbol Stones and the Roots and Branches of my family. – this website is also accessible from normanpenny.com.

Information about all my projects is at My Projects on this website.

This was an adventure in 2021:- Harrow Grand Day Out – 17 November 2021 visiting places I have not seen for over 30 years!

More recently (Aug/Sept 2022) I went to the British Library exhibition entitled “Gold” and was so impressed by a Tibetan Garuda scroll that I went back and took detailed photographs – this PDF is best viewed in “full screen”.

Having passed Dulwich on trains to Victoria over nearly 40 years, I finally visited the Picture Gallery in September 2022 and plan to return soon!

Here are some of my favourite pictures from this first visit to Dulwich Picture Gallery. As with “Gold” above, these slides are best viewed in full screen. That exhibition (finished 12 March 2023) is called Between Worlds with over 100 paintings and drawings by Lithuanian artist and composer M K Ĉiurlionis (1875 – 1911). Photos in slides 2 to 22 are of his material.
