Exploring my family background has resulted in many photographs, maps, family trees, history and anecdotes. I hope this website may be of interest.

Roots primarily centre on four geographic locations – North East Scotland, London, Australia and Argentina. The Penny start point is 366 years ago; Muirden 254; Laing 224 and Buckley only 203!

Branches started with places where Pennys farmed in Buchan then broadened to a range of family connections and associations not least to distant cousins. The most recent stems from my great, great grandfather (Charles Penny 1812 to 1891) to Charles and Helen Penny.

I would very much welcome more information to expand my family history. Surnames from N E Scotland are Penny, Muirden, MacKay and Laing; further afield – Buckley (London and Dublin) and Truscott (Cornwall).
