Added to the chart of the first 10 generations found so far in my family research are in this PDF of the birth and death locations of the Penny male direct family line. Updated 23 May 2024.
Having assumed the line was NE Scotland for hundreds of years, maybe with a Comyn connection, the Auchterarder presence in the 1600s (our source?) was unexpected. I wonder if other lines of Pennys in the North East emanate from the same point?
Although Nether Kinmundy seemed to be the “family home” throughout the 1800s this probably did not occur until the mid 1800s – the line of Pennys I am attached to spent a longer time in the parish of Rathen at farms in Newmill and Hallmoss.
